Foreign Worker stream

  • Have a full-time, long-term (i.e. permanent or minimum of 2 years) job offer in a high-skilled occupation from an Ontario employer
  • Have two years of relevant work experience in the last five years, or the relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario for a regulated occupation
  • Have legal status in country of residence

For applicants in the Foreign Worker Stream with a job offer from an Ontario employer, the nominee application fee is $2,000 for those with job offers in the Greater Toronto Area, and $1,500 for those with job offers outside of the Greater Toronto Area.

For applicants with a job offer from a foreign company making an investment under the Investment Component in Ontario, the nominee application fee is $3,500.

International students with a job offer stream

This stream offers international students with a job offer the opportunity to permanently live and work in Ontario.

Prospective nominees (the applicant) can only apply if they have received an approved permanent full-time job offer from an Ontario employer, or from a business making an approved and endorsed investment in Ontario.

The requirements for this stream are:

  • Have a full-time, long-term (i.e. permanent or minimum of 2 years) job offer in a high-skilled occupation from an Ontario employer
  • Have graduated from or have met the requirements of a full-time degree or diploma program at an eligible publicly-funded Canadian college or university that is at least two (2) years in length or a one year post-graduate certificate program, which requires a previous degree in order to qualify
  • Have completed at least half of their studies in Canada
  • Must apply within two years from the date on which they graduated

The application fee for international students with a job offer is $1500.

International Students – Masters Graduates stream

The Ontario PNP offers an opportunity for International Students – Masters Graduates to live and work permanently in Ontario. Prospective nominees applying under the Masters Graduates stream can apply without a job offer.

The requirements for this stream are:

  • Have graduated or have met degree requirements from a Masters Degree program that is at least one academic year, completed full-time at an eligible publicly-funded university in Ontario
  • Must be applying within two years of the date on which their Masters Degree was granted
  • Have legal status in Canada (i.e. study permit, work permit, visitor record)
  • Must currently reside in Ontario
  • Must intend to live and work in Ontario
  • Must demonstrate high official language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark 7

The application fee for masters graduates is $1500.

International Students – PhD Graduates stream

The Ontario PNP offers an opportunity for International Students – PhD Graduates to live and work permanently in Ontario.Prospective nominees applying under the PhD Graduate stream can apply without a job offer.

The requirements for this stream are:

  • Have successfully completed all requirements for the degree (i.e. have completed all course work, and successfully defended their thesis and are awaiting the conferring of their degree) at an eligible publicly-funded university in Ontario where the applicant completed at least two years of study
  • Have legal status in Canada (i.e. study permit, work permit, visitor record)
  • Must be applying within two years of the date on which their PhD was granted
  • Must intend to live and work in Ontario

The application fee for PhD graduates is $1500.

Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream

The Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream is for French-Speaking skilled workers who have strong English language abilities and who want to live and work permanently in Ontario. This stream enables OINP to nominate individuals that have qualified for Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Express Entry pool and who have the required education, skilled work experience, language ability, and other characteristics to help them successfully establish and integrate into Ontario’s labour market and communities.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program: Human Capital Priorities stream

This stream enables the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) (OINP) to nominate individuals who have qualified for Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC’s) Express Entry pool and who have the required education, skilled work experience, language ability, and other characteristics to help them successfully establish and integrate into Ontario’s labour market and communities.

Processing fees

Once the applicant receives their nomination, he/she will then apply for permanent residence. The processing fees that need to be submitted along with an application for permanent residence are:

  • Principal applicant – $550
  • A family member of the principal applicant who is 19 years of age or older, or is less than 19 years of age and is a spouse or common-law partner – $550
  • A family member of the principal applicant who is less than 19 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner – $150

Once an applicant is approved for permanent residence, the applicant will be required to pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee:

  • Principal applicant – $490
  • Spouse or de facto spouse – $490
  • Each dependent child – $0
